Three live schemes can cover most or all of a heat pump install in Scotland: Boiler Upgrade Scheme (£7,500 grant), Home Energy Scotland Loan (interest-free up to £15,000), and Warmer Homes Scotland (free for low-income households).

Eligibility varies. We can walk you through which scheme fits before you commit to anything. The Alto Energy umbrella means we can install MCS-compliant systems while our own MCS certification is in progress.

Common questions

Can I combine schemes?

BUS grant + HES loan: yes (use loan to cover the gap above the grant). Warmer Homes is standalone.

How long does it take?

BUS approval: 2-4 weeks. HES loan: 4-6 weeks. Warmer Homes: variable based on survey schedule.

What if I'm not eligible for any?

We do fixed-quote installs paid directly. No surprises mid-job.
